This is expanded deets on this character:
• Mallory Baines is a hobgoblin changeling, generally following the bogeyman ideal of those, which makes her a spooky hobgoblin that lurks dark places and scares people.

• She's from early 1900s America originally.

• Foul-mouthed, mean-spirited, gross, and wild-looking, with luminous neon-green eyes and teeth that look far too sharp. She has tons of hair stuffed up under a thick net-knit hat and wears a lot of dingy jewlery and old, over-sized clothing in many layers.

• A Changeling in this case/world is basically a human who got lost in Faerie for any reason and became a part of it in the end. They are mostly the servant/minion/unruly vagabond class of the realms. They're pretty weird because what they become typically conflicts with their humanity and it's hard, okay.

• Because she's basically a boogeyman sort of goblin, she feeds off of fear instead of needing food. Terror fuels her glamour, which fuels her powers, so she is in fact the monster in your closet and under your bed since that works so well for gathering fear.

• Speaking of powers, those sum up to: shapeshifting, minor reality-bending terror aura (if a house didn't feel haunted before, it sure will after she's stood in it for awhile!), travel via shadows.

• The pros to being a changeling instead of a full goblin for her are: sunlight won't kill her, she can pass as human if she chooses to, iron won't kill her outright, she can pass most thresholds normally (warded and hallowed ground gives her some issues still), still have cool powers.

• The cons of being a changeling for her are: she's still sensitive to bright lights and has grown to dislike the sun even if it won't kill her, her shapeshifting is limited by her mass (example: she can split her mass into her weight in, say, rats, but turning into something bigger requires more mass than she has, hence her many layers of oversized clothing and pockets full of junk), and iron still sucks a lot.
